Bullying could be as a result of being bullied yourself. Are you bullying because it makes you feel powerful? Are you the bully because you are liked or because people are scared of you?

Think about how it would make you feel if people were making fun of you, harassing you or stealing your lunch money? I am sure that it would make you feel awful - afraid and alone. You are probably already aware that what you are doing is wrong. If that is true, then take the first step to stopping your behaviour. Ask yourself:

What to do if you are being bullied

You have to tell someone. You may not want to do this because it means showing that you are vulnerable, that you are letting someone get the better of you. But really, it is very important to tell someone, otherwise, it may not stop. Speak to a friend, parent, brother or sister, uncle or aunt and most importantly, if it happens at school, speak to your teacher.  Or call us at Childline on 8008.  It is free to call.

Children can find if difficult to know how to handle bullying. They may feel afraid and or have low self-esteem to think they are worth being helped. You may feel like withdrawing from friends and socialising. Going out can be scary because you might be afraid of running into the bully.

Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse

Childline Gibraltar believes that any form of abuse to children whether physical, sexual, emotional or neglect continues to haunt and harm victims in adulthood and every person has the right to overcome the impact of childhood abuse and enjoy a happy and fulfilled life.

The main aim of our new service is to enable and empower adult victims of childhood abuse to access the support they need, in order to make their own personal journey of recovery and heal their emotional wounds.
