As part of our outreach education programme Childline delivers parenting courses developed by the leading U.K. charity Care for the Family. At Childline we know that being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging. Time out for parent courses are here to support you and to help you build a strong and secure relationship with your child, whatever their age. They include group discussions and practical tasks to help you build on your strengths and give you time and space to think about any changes you want to make. A helpful, easy to read handbook is included with each course. Our courses are run at different venues in Gibraltar and are usually made up of six 2-hour sessions, each led by trained and experienced facilitators. The courses are designed so that parents learn from each other by sharing ideas and tips. There’s something very special about meeting other mums and dads on one of our courses for parents. The benefits of sharing ideas and experiences with other parents can last a lifetime.
Core courses include:
- The Early Years course designed for to support parents of children aged between birth & 4 year.
- The Primary Years designed to support parents of children in primary and junior schools.
- The Teenage Years course is designed to support parents of pre-teenagers or teenagers.
- There is also a course designed specifically for Dads and it looks at why and how dads can play an active role.
The courses aim to provide common sense, jargon free information & ideas to help engage with your children and boost your relationship. To find out about when the next time-out for parents course is running, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
